You have a plenty of options within the Windows operating system to change the configurations, but there are certain settings that need you to enter in to the BIOS configuration to do the changes. BIOS setting is situated in UEFI firmware which exists outside the Windows OS. For example, if you want to choose which device to boot first, like your internal hard disk or external HDD, you can change the boot order by entering in to BIOS. You can even adjust on how fast your RAM can be accessed and how much voltage should be sent to the CPU.

Over the years, entering into the BIOS configuration has changed from just pressing a key. From the start of UEFI firmware, the fast boot settings now need a different approach. Lets see what they are.

Steps to Access BIOS On Windows 10

Method 1:

  • Click the Start menu and select Settings (the gear icon).
  • Now choose Update and Security.
  • From the left-side menu, select Recovery.
  • Under Advance startup, click 'Restart Now'.
  • Click Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
  • In the Advanced options window, choose UEFI Firmware Settings
  • Hit Restart Button.

Youll enter into BIOS once your system restarts. If you dont see yourself in the BIOS settings, dont worry. You can still enter by pressing the right key combination which is our second method.

Caution!

As soon as you hit Restart as in step 7, it will restart your PC immediately. So it is important that you close all the programs before you press that button. If you have lost any files because of this, you can make use of data recovery software for retrieving files from Windows 10. It is an easy-to-use app which can restore up to 300 file types.
