How to recover Windows Vista files
Microsoft is the leader in developing Graphical User Interface based operating system. Microsoft has developed many operating systems and one among them is Microsoft Windows Vista. Vista was developed to overcome the drawbacks of previous operating systems which were developed by Microsoft. It has rich GUI, easy to use interface and other interesting features.
Vista uses NTFS (New Technology File System) to organize data on hard drive. Though NTFS is a secure file system, users may end up losing data from it. There is no need to panic when such thing happens to you, as files which have been lost or deleted from computer using Vista can be recovered unless and until it is overwritten. How to recover Windows Vista files would be the biggest question which comes to user’s mind when files from computer have been deleted or lost.
There are various reasons for files to get deleted or lost. Some of them are discussed below,
To avoid any loss of precious files from computer it is advised that you keep a backup of important files on CD’s / DVD’s or external storage devices. In such cases even though files are deleted from computer, you may get them back from the backup files.
There is no need to panic even when you lose files without any backup as they can always be recovered using a good Windows file recovery software. As the name specifies, this software is specially designed to recover files on Windows based operating systems. It supports recovery of files deleted or lost from Windows XP, Vista, Win 7, Windows server 2003 and 2008. It supports recovery of files from both FAT and NTFS drives.
Follow the steps given below to recover files on Windows Vista,
Step 1: Install the demo version of Windows File Recovery software and launch it by double clicking the executable file. You will get three options such as "Recover Files", "Recover Photos" and "Recover Partitions / Drives". Click on " Recover Partition / Drives" option as shown in Figure 1

Step 2: In this window you get two options “Partition Recovery” and “Formatted / Reformatted Recovery”. Click “Partition Recovery” when you have lost or deleted any partitions of the hard drive. Click “Formatted / Reformatted Recovery” option when you want to recover files from formatted partitions as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3: The number of partitions on the hard drive will be displayed in the next window. You need to select the partition on which recovery of files is to be done. Select the partition and click “Next” as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4: In the next window you will get an option to select or skip the file types. Select a file type and click on “Next” or select “Skip” to skip the process. The software scans the selected partition, and recovers the deleted or lost files. The recovered list of files is displayed in the application window as shown in Figure 4
